Tidal (“tidal,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Shopify app and web service operated by New Dawn Studio. tidal shows merchants how AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini describe their store. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

tidal is currently free to use. By using tidal, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

Information we collect

We collect only what we need to run a scan and deliver your report.

  • → Information you give us. The store URL or domain you submit for a scan, and your email address when you request a full report or join the waitlist.
  • → Publicly available store data. When you submit a store URL, we fetch pages that are already public on the open web — such as your homepage and product pages — and store details like product names, descriptions, and prices to run the scan.
  • → AI prompts and responses. The shopper-style questions we generate for your scan, and the responses returned by third-party AI models, along with our analysis of them (for example, whether your brand was mentioned and which competitors were cited).
  • → Shopify data (if you install the app). If you install the tidal Shopify app, we access store information through Shopify’s APIs only to the extent you authorize during installation, and use it solely to provide the service.
  • → Technical data. Standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type, and request timestamps) and the essential cookies needed to keep the site secure and working, including session and anti-forgery (CSRF) cookies. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How we use your information

  • →To run your scan and generate your visibility report.
  • →To email you your report and, if you joined the waitlist, to let you know when new features are available.
  • →To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
  • →To respond to your questions and provide support.
  • →To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Third-party services we share data with

We rely on a small number of service providers to deliver tidal. They process data only on our behalf and for the purposes described here:

  • → AI model providers. To produce your report, we send the shopper-style questions we generate to third-party AI providers, including OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), and Google (Gemini). We do not send your email address or other personal account details to these models.
  • → Email delivery. To send your report and waitlist updates to the address you provide.
  • → Hosting and infrastructure. To run and store the application and its data securely.
  • → Shopify. Where you install or use tidal through Shopify, your use is also governed by Shopify’s own privacy practices.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate business or legal purposes. You can ask us to delete your scan data and email address at any time, and we will do so unless we are required to retain it.

If you install the tidal Shopify app and later uninstall it, we delete the data associated with your store within 48 hours, except where we are required to retain it to comply with legal obligations.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below. You can unsubscribe from waitlist and report emails at any time using the link in the email.

International transfers

We and our service providers may process your information in countries other than your own. Where we do, we take steps to ensure your information receives an appropriate level of protection.

Children

tidal is intended for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate.
